We work across Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Tanzania to improve access to assistive technology and strengthen disability-inclusive systems. Through partnerships, training and locally driven solutions, our projects focus on creating sustainable change and expanding opportunity for disabled people.
Made AT Kenya
A project to address the shortage of affordable and functional wheelchairs in Kenya by creating a sustainable local manufacturing model, reducing dependency on costly imports and ensuring access to appropriate Assistive Technology for disabled people.
Person-centred Care, Wheelchair Services, Phase 2
The project aims to meet ongoing demand for appropriate wheelchairs while strengthening long-term systems through training, peer support, university integration, and sustainable repair and maintenance models.
Nourish and Flourish
A 12-month pilot project in Kenya supporting children with cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopmental conditions by equipping their parents and caregivers with skills in care, nutrition, food security, and income generation. inclusion.
Quality of Life through mobility
Aims to improve quality of life for 800+ people with disabilities by expanding access to wheelchairs, assistive devices, and peer support. It will distribute mobility aids, train service providers, strengthen follow-up care, and build local repair skills—promoting independence, inclusion, and long-term support.
Workforce Development
Aims to strengthen wheelchair services by training providers, improving infrastructure, and integrating WHO standards into education. It will establish six service centres, fit 600 appropriate wheelchairs, and provide ongoing support through trained professionals and peer mentors.
Survive and Thrive
Building the knowledge and skills of the caregivers of children aged 0 to 10 with cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopmental conditions, to support their childhood development to improve health, play and communication and empower parents and caregivers.
Tunaswasi/ We Are Thriving!
Strengthens the independence and wellbeing of children and young people with disabilities by supporting families and communities. It trains parents, caregivers, and local facilitators, promotes access to assistive technology and rehabilitation services, and builds community-based support systems to improve care, inclusion, and resilience.
