Overview
The Wheelchair Service Training of Trainers (ToT) is designed to strengthen the capacity of individuals to deliver high-quality wheelchair service training. It builds on global efforts to improve access to appropriate wheelchairs, especially in low-resource settings, by developing skilled trainers who can expand knowledge and services within their communities.
The training focuses on equipping participants with both technical knowledge and training skills, enabling them to effectively train others in wheelchair service provision.
Training Structure
The ToT programme combines a core training skills module with a specialized module based on the participant’s area of focus:
- Core Training Skills – covers facilitation, communication, and adult learning techniques
- Basic Level Module – focuses on foundational wheelchair service provision
- Intermediate Level Module – covers more advanced assessment and service delivery
- Managers and Stakeholders Module – focuses on service management, coordination, and advocacy

Outcome
